Researcher Jeffrey Long & NDERF
Jeffrey Long is a medical doctor specializing in radiation oncology (using radiation to treat cancer). He practices medicine in Houma, Louisiana. As a scientist, Long founded The Near-Death Experience Research Foundation (NDERF) in 1998 with his wife, Jody, who is an attorney. Dr. Long wanted to know if NDEs were real by directly asking the NDErs themselves. The NDERF website, which currently has over 4,600 NDEs in 23 languages, is the largest NDE database in the world. Dr. Long’s first book, which detailed his discovers, is called Evidence of the Afterlife: The Science of Near-Death Experiences. It became a New York Times best-seller. Dr. Long’s second book, God and the Afterlife: The Groundbreaking New Evidence for God and Near-Death Experience, presents evidence that a Supreme Being exists. As a leading NDE researcher and a medical doctor, Dr. Long has appeared on national media including O’Rielly Factor, NBC today, ABC with Peter Jennings, the Dr. Oz Show, the History Channel, the Learning Channel, and National Geographic. He has also appeared on Fox News Houston and at the New York Academy of Sciences.
